Founded by Elwood Ellis, who began his career at Blue Giant Equipment Corporation in the 1960s, specializing in dock levelers, pump jacks, and scissor tables. Elwood later ventured out on his own, focusing on building dock levelers and elevating devices. Recognizing a growing market need for material lifts and freight elevators, Elwood's knowledge and capabilities positioned him as a leader in designing and manufacturing superior elevating devices.
In 1991, Elwood founded Atlantic Lifts, leveraging his two decades of experience to establish the company as an industry leader in elevating devices. Over the years, Atlantic Lifts has grown to over 30 employees, evolving into a full-service elevator company. In 2023, after a fulfilling career, Elwood retired, passing the torch to the new owner, Wes Powers.
Wes, who started as a mechanic with Atlantic Lifts, shares Elwood's dedication to quality and innovation.
